Orphan Sunday

November 13th is no ordinary day. It’s Orphan Sunday, which falls within National Orphan Awareness Month. We thought we’d ask some of our Serving Orphans Worldwide supporters to consider joining us in celebrating this special day.

dedicate your church service

Pastors & Church Leadership, Orphan Sunday is the perfect time for you to share God’s heart for the orphan with your church family. CAFO has tons of resources available to help you with this, such as sermon notes, prayer guides & small group studies. We’d love to help you craft the perfect Orphan Sunday service for your congregation!

host a potluck dinner

Sunday afternoons are best served with buffet-style home-cooking! For Orphan Sunday, add a “Pay What You Can” or Suggested Donation to your church’s potluck dinner. Your family’s $20 donation for a tasty home-cooked meal could help feed an orphaned child for an entire month! That’s a pretty sweet deal.

run for orphans

If you love to run and want to make a lasting impact in the life of an orphan, consider doing an Orphan Run for Hope! You can do a 5k, 1/2 marathon or full marathon where you invite your friends, co-workers, and relatives to donate to the orphan’s cause. If you complete your run before Orphan Sunday, consider sharing about your experience and the orphan’s cause with your church on that day. See if a marathon is taking place near you!

use #orphansunday & tag @servingorphans
